Why Your Business Should Go All In On Facebook Ads
If you’re a business owner or marketer, you absolutely need to go all in on Facebook ads.
With every customer I’m working with to date, I’m always pushing them to invest in Facebook advertising. If they already are, it’s time to spend more money.
Other times I’m consulting them on why they need to switch from picture ads to video ads, and to try new methods they haven’t yet to get their name in front of their target audience.
Why am I such an avid believer in this marketing channel? Because it’s been so good to my marketing customers.
Initially I wondered why these ads were performing so well. Then I took time to break it down into four principles.
Here’s my argument for why you’d be crazy to advertise anywhere else, or sit on the sidelines and not promote your business when you have this unreal advertising tool at your disposal.
Why Facebook Ads Work
1. Marketing & Sales
Google ads are definitely effective, there’s no question about it. And we run those for customers all the time.
But I have a little problem with them: The search ad is all text and links.
There’s no option for branding, company colors, a logo, or a corporate video. In other words, it’s boring. It doesn’t connect with your audience.
That means your copywriting needs to be the best in hopes of standing out. And even then, you can lose a customer’s attention for the other links on the page.
But with Facebook, I think you see where I’m going here, you can market your business with a creative image or video to communicate clearly to your audience.
You have the freedom to be funny, entertaining, informative, or understanding of your customer’s pain points.
Guess what all of that translates to? Marketing your brand. And what businesses have an easy time selling? The ones with the most memorable branding and marketing.
Most businesses pay separately for marketing and then have another bill for their sales team. That’s costly.
But when your company runs Facebook ads, it’s a two for one special. You get superior marketing and sales.
2. Targeting Ability
Facebook ads are able to offer incredible value thanks to their targeting ability.
Call it creepy or overstepping your personal privacy, but the Facebook algorithm knows literally everything about its users.
For a high-level example, it knows where you work, where you live, your gender, your relationship status, your income, your age, your behaviors, and your interests, plus a ton more.
Now for a small-, medium-size, or large business that doesn’t want to waste a penny on people who aren’t interested in the product or service being advertised, this is incredibly useful.
Because we can target to your core audience and exclude everyone else who doesn’t vibe with your company.
Take a burger restaurant. We’d exclude vegans in the targeting and put the ad in front of burger lovers only.
That laser targeting produces leads and sales out the wazoo like you’ve never seen before.
A simple example of this targeting ability is when I ran an ad for a wine shop. They wanted to promote their monthly wine subscription.
Using common sense, we knew that no one who is struggling financially would be willing to buy a luxury service like this one. So we excluded everyone who didn’t have a minimum household income of $100,000.
The ads results improved drastically because of this targeting.
P.S. Read this if your Facebook ads are struggling to convert.
3. Low Cost
No expensive budget for Facebook ads? No problem.
For starters, you shouldn’t put a ton of money into your ads. Because first you’ll want to experiment and do targeting split tests to see what ad of four is converting best. Then dump your money onto that one and cancel the others.
That’s why it’s totally fine and recommended to start at $50, $100, or $200 for your first run.
Once you niche down to the right audience based on their behaviors and interests, then it’s time you put every dollar from your marketing budget into these high-performing ads.
With a small budget and smart targeting, you can make a major dent in growing your business this year.
I mean the reach and results I got for this restaurant with only a $40 Facebook ad budget was incredible.
4. Look Natural
The main problem with average advertisements is they look like an ad, which people immediately tune out. A tuned out viewer doesn’t engage with the content or make a purchase.
Magazine ads are quickly skimmed over to the next page of content. Website ads are closed to keep reading an article. And people take bathroom breaks during television ads.
How are Facebook ads any different? When executed properly, they don’t look like an ad at all. It appears as natural content on their News Feed.
As long as it’s effectively done, people who scroll their Facebook will stop and engage with your ad. They might click it, like it, comment, tag a friend, or share it.
Your goal should be to design a picture or video ad that is so well executed, it provides value to the audiences even if they don’t give a crap about your brand. That’s when you have a winner.
Facebook ads give you that “undercover ad” opportunity—best you take advantage of it!
Facebook Advertising Will Scale Your Business
Look, if you’re ambitious you want to scale your business, right?
But there are problems in your way, stopping you from doubling and tripling your revenue.
Your business can only get so many referrals. You can only hire so many sales reps. And you can only put out so much content.
However, if you reinvest your profits into Facebook advertising, you can turn on the new customer faucet, so to speak, and never turn it off.
Then you take the profits from the new customers, that came from your Facebook ad, and run a higher budget ad to return more new customers and a higher profit.
Running effective Facebook ads are how you scale a restaurant, IT service, fitness gym, recruiting company, or any business realistically, to the moon.
I don’t care if you run a B2C or B2B company or a neighborhood lemonade stand, your business benefits from a well-thought out Facebook ads campaign.
That’s a cold hard fact.
