Facebook Ads Case Study: $15,000 In 8 Days
This is a true story of how I used one Facebook ad to drive more than $15,000 worth of business to this local Cincinnati restaurant.
It all went down in the summer of 2017 during the early stages of growing my digital marketing company Robben Media. At this point I’m actually doing door to door sales cause there’s no shame in my hustle to get new customers.
One day, I walk up to this well known Cincinnati pizza joint and ask who is responsible for their marketing.
The hostess goes in the back and brings out the restaurant manager who asks me what’s up.
I give him my sales pitch on how I do marketing for businesses while trying to convince him to let me run a Facebook ad for him.
He responds that he’s not responsible for the businesses’ marketing. Then he points me to this lady across the restaurant who is swamped in paperwork and double-timing on her laptop.
After walking up to this woman, I introduce who I am and what I do, and make another pitch to run a trial Facebook ad to proof my worth.
She’s like ok, I see how that might work, and then asks how much money do you need to do the ad and how much do we need to spend on it?
Lucky for me, they’re having a special promotion tomorrow. So she needed help advertising the next day. This meant we were hired, but we had no time to get a quality video produced or bring in a photographer to get a creative image of the food we want to advertise.
She sent us some pictures but they didn’t have the exact quality we were looking for—and a quick lesson, half the battle in getting Facebook advertising results is creating an attention-grabbing visual.
That’s when our I had to get scrappy by searching the business name and menu item they wanted to advertise. We ended up finding a decent picture online from a local news story.
That was blind luck which we were fortunate to have happen. We edited the picture’s lighting and made the best of it.
Then we published the ad the next day, and I had to sign into her personal account and it was a mess. This was super unprofessional and rushed. But we didn’t have time to get me approved as an advertiser on her page being new to this.
But with all that said, that, the ad campaign results were insane.
Not getting page likes or having to do a monster Facebook giveaway to move the needle, just pure profits.
Facebook Ads Case Study Results
For an 8 day campaign at $5 per day ($40 total in ad spend, that’s it, just $40 tiny dollars for a business doing close to or more than a million dollars in sales per year with multiple locations), we achieved this ad performance:
- 8,259 people reached, with about 30% to 40% being organic reach that we didn’t pay for
- 282 reactions, which shows the text and ad was compelling for people to respond to.
- 266 post clicks
- $0.0048 total cost per person to view the ad—essentially half a penny
- $4.84 cost to reach 1,000 people
- $15,000 profit as we tripled their sales for this week compared to last year
That’s how you run a low-production budget and low budget ad but still get 8,259 people to see it. We dominated. It felt amazing!
Now we use this Facebook ad as a case study to convince other businesses that we too can get your brand in front of your target audience for half a penny, so let’s work together and make you a fortune.
This example shows the power of Facebook advertising, why every local business should run ads or hire someone like us to be your Facebook advertising agency.
P.S. Here’s how to fix Facebook ads that aren’t performing.
